A 60 L hiking backpack for spare layers, food and camping gear. Zip pockets and mesh side pockets keep small things and a bottle within reach, and the main compartment takes the bulk.

Good for: overnight and weekend camping trips and longer hikes, with trekking poles held at the side.
Not made for: steady rain without extra cover. The nylon helps resist moisture, but use a rain cover or dry bags in long rain; the pack is not made to go under water.

Load the pack first, with heavier items close to your back. Then adjust the shoulder straps, sternum strap and hip belt without pulling them too tight, and draw in the compression straps. Check every buckle and attachment before you set off. Trekking poles, bottles and other items in the photos are not included.

ABOUT BIRCHWOOD
We choose clothing and gear for people who walk the dog before work, spend weekends at the cottage and want boots that stay comfortable all day.
Every product page tells you what it's good for, and what it isn't. We list the materials and measurements we know, and say so when the maker doesn't. Not sure what fits? Email us and we'll help you choose.
