A folding sighting compass with a rotating dial and a hinged lid that protects it. It is for anyone who likes a paper map on day hikes, hunting trips or the back roads to a fishing spot. Closed, it is compact enough for your pack or outdoor kit.

Good for: map checks on trails in provincial parks, at hunting camp and on canoe trips.
Not made for: learning navigation on the go. If you are new to map and compass, practise on a trail you know first. The maker doesn't list a declination setting, so be ready to adjust for it on your map.
